About World Reflections By Sharon

World Reflections By Sharon Sharon, an award-winning photographer, has been interested in photography for most of her life. When she was a child, she was given a camera and has been taking pictures ever since. She developed passions for photography and travel by documenting family events and trips.

Sharon followed her twin passions while pursuing her formal education and teaching career as a college professor. While working, she was still taking photographs that documented the unique and mundane. Since she retired, Sharon has the time to enjoy and share her art. Mainly self-taught, she follows her instincts and intuitively frames her subjects. Because she believes her photography reflects the beauty of nature and the wonders that exist in the world, she collectively entitles her body of work "World Reflections."

Her photographs reveal her reverence and fascination with wildlife, landscapes, travel, and botanicals. Additionally, her works highlight the people, places, and things encountered during her local, national, and international travels. She tries to capture the essence of every subject as it actually exists, not relying on post production manipulation. The "Abstract Lights" collection is an interpretation of light and shapes which focuses on form and structure. All photographs were carefully composed within the camera and there is no post production manipulation.

A believer that an authentic picture tells the best story, other than a minor straightening , cropping, and perhaps lightening, Sharon rarely alters a picture. What the observer sees is how it really existed. Most work is accomplished with attention to detail and in camera composition and framing.

Sharon's pictures have been published in newspapers, magazines, newsletters, book jackets, promotional material, and online. Her works have been mainly exhibited in various venues in Florida and her work is sold locally and online.
